Changed my mind about shop vacs after a trip to the dump in Akron
I always thought any cheap shop vac would do the job, but I saw a guy at the recycling center use a Rigid with a dust deputy setup to empty his truck in like 30 seconds flat. His filter looked brand new after a year of use. Anyone else find that spending $80 on a cyclone separator is worth it?

My own shop vac setup is a cautionary tale. I once spent a whole Saturday unclogging a filter so caked with drywall dust I could have used it as a brick. Ended up buying a Dust Deputy after that mess and honestly, it's paid for itself in saved time and fewer filters.
