The summer of 2019 I had a week where every single fix held first time. No callbacks, no second trips.

I patched a leaky flat roof on a Tuesday and it survived a huge storm that Thursday, the homeowner even called to say thanks. Has anyone else ever had a string of repairs that just went exactly right?

I mean that exact thing happened to me with a bad section of gutter downspout I replaced. It was just one of those days where everything lined up, the cut was perfect and the sealant actually cured before the next rain. Maybe it's just me but those rare perfect jobs make up for all the times you have to go back.

Wait, your sealant actually cured before it rained? That's witchcraft where I'm from.

Yeah I don't buy that "rare perfect jobs make up for the bad ones" thing oscarb77 said. To me one bad job where you have to go back and redo everything just wipes out all the good feelings from five easy ones. I had a chain link fence post I set last spring that went perfect, straight as an arrow, concrete set fine. Then the next week I had to dig out a post that I set crooked and it took three times as long. That one bad job still bugs me more than the good one satisfies me.
