TIL that spending $60 on a pressure washer attachment for my deck was a total waste compared to just using a scrub brush and some elbow grease.
Had a neighbor named Dave tell me that after watching me struggle with the wand for 20 minutes, and I realized he was right when the brush did the same job in half the time without stripping the wood - has anyone else found that power tools for cleaning are overrated for certain jobs?

Man, that's just how life works once you stop chasing shortcuts.

Honestly, shortcuts just waste more time in the end.

kim191, I gotta push back a little on "shortcuts just waste more time." That's true for some things, but not all. @the_riley mentioned life without shortcuts, which hits closer to home. The thing is, a good shortcut is just a smarter way to do the same job. Like using keyboard shortcuts instead of clicking through menus - that saves real time every day. But if you're cutting corners on something like learning a skill or fixing a car, yeah, you'll probably end up redoing it. The trick is knowing which shortcuts actually work and which ones are just lazy.
