Tried foam vs rubber weatherstripping on my front door... night and day difference

I used the cheap foam stuff from the dollar store last winter and my heating bill barely budged. Swapped to the rubber kind with the metal strip for $12 at Ace and my draft problem was gone after one weekend. Anyone else find foam just doesn't hold up after a few months?

My buddy tried that foam stuff and said it crumbled to dust by February. He went with the rubber kind too and now his door seals better than new.

Did you use the foam tape or the foam rope? The tape stuff is garbage. It just flattens out after a couple weeks. @grant.sam I feel you on that crumbling issue. My foam tape turned into dust too. Now I only use the rubber type. It's a pain to cut but lasts way longer. Makes me mad I wasted money on the cheap stuff first.
