Used dollar store contact paper on my kitchen counter as a test fix and it's held up for 6 months now

Isn't that how it always goes though? You try something cheap just to see and it ends up working way better than it should. I've got a pair of flip flops from the grocery store that are somehow still going after two summers. Seems like the stuff you put no thought or money into ends up being the most reliable. Meanwhile I spent real cash on a fancy cutting board that warped in three months. Sometimes the universe just wants you to stop overthinking everything and let cheap contact paper do its thing.

@xena_brown50 nailed it honestly. Bought a three dollar roll of contact paper for a shelf I thought would fall apart in a week. That was two years ago and it still looks fine. Mean while my expensive rice cooker got a crack in the lid after six months. Cheap stuff just has a way of proving us all wrong sometimes.

Six months with dollar store contact paper is actually decent. My buddy tried it on his bathroom vanity and it started peeling at the edges by month three. But I guess it depends on how much you use that counter and how careful you are with it. If it works it works, right.
