Vent: my $3 pool noodle fix saved my fence from a storm that wrecked 5 neighbor's panels
Last month in Phoenix during monsoon season, I sliced a pool noodle lengthwise and wedged it between the loose fence rail and post to stop the wobble, and it held tight through 60 mph gusts while three neighbors on my street lost entire sections of their fence - has anyone else found a cheap material that beats the expensive hardware store brackets?

Pool noodles are seriously underrated for stuff like that. I used one to stop my gate from sagging last summer, just cut a slit and slid it over the top of the hinge pin, and it's still holding a year later with zero sag. I bought a three pack for like four bucks at the dollar store and still have two left for other projects. Meanwhile my brother spent thirty dollars on a fancy gate repair kit and it rusted out after one rainy winter. Cheap fixes that take five minutes always win in my book.

Right? I did the same thing with a pool noodle on my shed door that kept hitting the side. Cut a piece and slipped it over the latch plate to soften the slam, worked like a charm for two years now.
