I was using the wrong kind of saw blade for plywood for three years until a guy at the lumber yard asked me why my cuts looked so rough.

Man, my buddy did the same thing with a table saw. He was using a framing blade on birch ply for months, just wrecking the edges. He kept blaming his old saw until someone at a woodworking class finally asked to see his setup. The look on his face when they told him to just swap to an 80-tooth blade was priceless. All that time and wasted material, you know? Makes you wonder what other simple fixes we're all missing.

Tell me about it. I did the exact same thing with a miter saw. Used a basic blade on trim for way too long and just accepted the chipped edges as normal. Felt like a total fool when a coworker asked why I wasn't using a finish blade. It's crazy how we can just miss the most basic stuff right in front of us. That moment of realizing the fix is so simple is equal parts relief and pure annoyance.
