My front door's squeak taught me about hinge alignment (the hard way)

Back in the day, my dad would just squirt oil on squeaky hinges and call it fixed. (Funny how that was the go-to solution.) When mine kept screeching, I looked online and learned to check if the hinges were lined up right. One pin was a bit crooked, so I bent it back and used a little grease, which finally stopped the noise for good.

Wow, that's a way better fix than just spraying more oil. How did you actually check the alignment? Did you use a level or just eyeball it? And what kind of grease did you end up using? I've got a couple doors that might need the same treatment.

Watched my friend eyeball it and use silicone spray, @noah_kelly60.

My attempt at door alignment last week was a comedy of errors, lol. Tried to eyeball it without a level and ended up with a door that swings shut on its own. Used some old bike grease I had lying around, which just made everything sticky. Now I just call my handy friend whenever something needs fixing.
