Pro tip: skip the fancy peel and stick backsplash tile
I spent over $300 on that stuff for my kitchen last month, thinking it would be a quick weekend fix. The corners started lifting after the first time I cleaned it, and the grout lines looked fake up close. I wasted a whole Saturday and had to pull it all off, which ruined the drywall underneath. Now I'm out the tile cost plus another $150 for a pro to fix the wall. Has anyone found a good, cheap way to do a real tile backsplash without it being a huge mess?

But @aliceshah, it's just a kitchen wall, not a big deal.

Why do so many quick fixes just make things worse?

Ever notice how a quick fix is just putting off the real work? Mary's right that it's just a wall, but that's why it gets worse. You slap some spackle on a crack without finding the leak, next thing you know the whole thing is soft and moldy. It feels faster but you always end up doing the job twice.
