The difference a single coat of primer made on my old kitchen cabinets

I painted them yesterday and skipped the primer on one door just to see. After 12 hours, the primed doors are perfectly smooth, but the bare one already has a weird, sticky feel and the old wood grain is showing through. Does anyone know if I can just prime over this now, or do I need to strip it back down?

Honestly, is it that big of a deal?

Are you serious right now, @henry_martinez? People are literally losing their homes over this. It's a huge deal for the families getting pushed out. The cost of everything has gone up so much. Saying it's not a big deal just shows you're not paying attention to what's actually happening to people.

Oh man, that's a classic move. I did the exact same thing on a dresser once, convinced I could skip a step. Spoiler alert, it looked awful and I had to redo the whole thing. You can probably prime right over the sticky one, but you might want to give it a super light sanding first to rough up that weird finish.
