A client pushed me to try a new 3D scanning app for as-built surveys and I was dead wrong about it.
I was doing a remodel plan for a bakery downtown and the owner insisted I use this app on his phone to scan the back room instead of my tape and laser. I figured it would be junk, but the point cloud it made was spot on and saved me a full afternoon of measuring. Has anyone else had a tool they doubted totally change their workflow?

Totally get that. Makes you wonder what other old-school methods we're clinging to for no good reason. What's the next tape measure in your kit that needs replacing?
