A close call with file backups that changed my routine

I used to only backup my CAD drawings once a week, thinking it was no big deal. Then my computer crashed right after I finished a big shop drawing. I had not backed up for three days and almost lost all that work. It was a huge scare trying to get my files back. I managed to recover an older version, but I had to redo a lot of details. Now I make a backup to an external drive after each drawing session. It adds maybe two minutes to my day but keeps my mind at ease. Seriously, set a reminder or something so you don't end up like I did.

Two minutes every single day adds up though. Does it really need to be after every session?

Only two minutes? That's barely any time at all. In my experience, short sessions like that don't really build any habit. You really need a solid five minutes to see actual progress.

Actually, those two minutes are huge for making something feel automatic.
