A software crash corrupted my main drafting file last week

I want to give everyone a heads up about what just happened to me. My drafting program froze and shut down without warning. I was working on a detailed site plan for a new park project. Even with auto-save turned on, the file got messed up and wouldn't open right. All my progress from that afternoon was gone for good. The deadline was tight, and I had to redo hours of work from memory. Now I make a copy of the file every time I take a break. You should save manually often, not just trust the software to do it.

Two years ago I'd have said you were being too careful.

Two years ago? That feels like a decade.

Seriously, the last couple years showed us why that care matters. Look at how fast things change now, from remote work tech to new ways of doing business. What felt overly safe in 2022 just looks like common sense today. I've seen too many people get caught off guard by not having a plan b. That extra step can save you a world of hassle now.
