Appreciation post: the old lead holder I found in a basement drawing

I was digging through some old portfolios from drafting school a few months back, found an old 0.5mm lead holder I hadn't touched in years. Took it to work for a quick floor plan revision, and that thing just felt right in my hand, the weight and grip were perfect. I'd been using a cheap mechanical pencil from the gas station for weeks because I lost my regular one, but the lead holder made my lines way cleaner and straighter without even trying. Has anyone else gone back to an older tool and been surprised how much better it works than what you've been using?

That lead holder sounds like it was made for your hand, glad you found it again.

Honestly? It's a pencil. Not sure it's that deep.

The 0.5mm vs 0.7mm debate gets people heated though. I mean, one wrong thickness and your whole handwriting feels off. Maybe it's just me but a good pencil rotation changes everything.
