I finally caved and tried that new parametric modeling plugin everyone's hyping
For months I thought it was just a gimmick for people who couldn't draw proper constraints, but my coworker in the next cubicle kept going on about it. I downloaded the 30-day trial last Tuesday to prove him wrong on a simple bracket design. It actually saved me a solid hour when the client changed the bolt pattern diameter from 50mm to 65mm overnight. Has anyone else had a tool they fought against that ended up being a real time-saver?

Oh man, that was me with keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop. I was so convinced it was faster to just click everything, but once I forced myself to learn them it was like a whole new program opened up. Now I can't even watch someone click through menus without twitching.

Remember fighting the move from paper blueprints to CAD like it was a personal insult.

My uncle was a draftsman. He had a whole ritual with his pencils and his light table. Saw the first CAD terminal and called it a toy for kids. Took him years to admit the undo button alone was a miracle. He missed the smell of the paper, though. Said the screen never felt the same.
