I used to freehand all my weld symbols on the shop drawings, but switching to a proper library in AutoCAD 2023 saved me about 8 hours a week.

Honestly, that bit about saving eight hours a week is huge. A buddy of mine in a small fab shop was doing the same freehand thing for years. He finally got pushed into using a proper symbol library and he said the first week felt like he'd found a cheat code. All that time he used to spend drawing little arrows and flags just vanished. Tbh, he was kinda mad he didn't switch sooner.

That cheat code feeling is real. Set up your library once and it's just click, place, done. No more redrawing the same thing.
