The worst week of my drafting career started with a corrupted Revit file on Monday morning.

Corrupted Revit file sounds like a nightmare start. Tbh, I once lost a whole day's work on a site plan because the auto-save just decided not to. Had to redraw everything from a printed sketch.

Redraw everything from a printed sketch" is the real horror story. That means your only backup was a piece of paper, which is a scary place to be. How often do you make manual saves now versus just trusting the auto stuff?

Actually, Revit's auto-save can't just "decide not to" because it's a timed, automatic function. The issue is usually that the saved backup file itself gets corrupted, which is a different problem. So the real lesson is to manually save copies to a different location too.
