Cleaning out my old shop space last week and found a box of 3.5 inch floppy drives from 2003.

Those things are basically time capsules now. I found a stack of them in my dad's garage last year and it was like opening a history book. There's something cool about holding the actual physical thing that old files lived on. It makes you realize how much we've lost by going fully digital, where everything just disappears into the cloud. I'd take finding a box of floppies over another cloud storage bill any day.

Yeah @rodriguez.diana, you gotta check if those old disks are even readable. The magnetic stuff fades over time. I tried to pull some family photos off a few last summer and half of them were just corrupted, made this awful grinding noise. Get a USB floppy drive now if you're serious about it.
