Just hit 50 repaired Nintendo Switches with the same exact joy-con drift issue
I'm a one-man shop in Omaha, and I finally counted them up. It's wild that I've fixed fifty of these things, all for the same problem with the joystick sensor wearing out. I keep a box of the replacement ALPS RKJXV122400Y modules just for this now. Has anyone else seen this specific model fail so often, or is it just the kids around here being extra hard on their consoles?

Actually, that specific part number is for the joystick unit itself. The sensor inside is a separate, smaller piece. The whole module just gets swapped because it's faster.

But why not just fix the sensor?

Heard about my buddy's kid who went through three sets in a year. The little guy isn't even rough with it, just plays a ton of Mario Kart. His dad finally opened one up and the plastic inside the module was worn down to dust. Makes you wonder about the material they used for those parts.
