Pro tip: the old way of checking a governor rope is still the best way
I keep seeing newer guys just yank on it or use a digital gauge, but you need to feel the whole length with your hands for flat spots. I found a worn section on a job in Tacoma last month that a gauge said was fine. How do you all check yours?

Guess they skipped the part about hands-on experience.

Tell me about it. Feels like they just hand out degrees now.

Oh man, that's classic. They trust a little screen over their own two hands. Next thing you know they'll be using an app to check if their boots are tied. That worn spot you found says it all. Gotta feel the rope, period.
