Rant: The worst Tuesday I've had in 15 years of service work
Got a call for a stuck elevator at a 12-story building downtown. Turns out someone jammed a shopping cart in the door gap and the controller board fried trying to cycle. Had to pull the whole door operator apart and wait 4 hours for a replacement board. Any of you guys ever deal with random junk getting wedged in the tracks?

What's the weirdest thing you've had to fish out of an elevator track? I once had to pull out a half-eaten burrito wrapped in foil that somehow jammed the door rollers. Guess my worst Tuesday is just getting started compared to that shopping cart mess.

Oh man, a shopping cart?! That's brutal! I had something similar with a piece of rebar someone dropped that got wedged sideways in the track, totally locked the door operator up. What worked for me was using a long flat bar to gently pry the track open just a hair while my partner pulled the junk out, then we used a shop vac on the whole track area before even trying to cycle it again. Saved us from frying the board, luckily.
