Got me thinking about the last time I tried to fix my own garage door. Let's just say the spring situation got real exciting real fast. Ended up calling a pro who probably still tells that story. Sometimes the old guys at the supply house have seen enough disasters to fill a book. Their advice is usually worth its weight in gold, even if you only get it after you've already messed up.

My dad always said garage door springs were no big deal until I saw one snap a 2x4 in half. I used to think watching a YouTube video made me qualified for anything. Now I just call Mike from the hardware store before I even pick up a tool. That man has talked me out of more bad ideas than I can count.
