Vent: The fire service recall panel on a 1980s Otis in our building was a total mess before we fixed it.
Wires were a rat's nest, labels were gone, and it took 45 minutes just to trace a single circuit. We redid the whole thing with new tags and proper lacing last week. Anyone else have a go-to method for cleaning up old recall panels that saves time?

Pneumatic lacing or zip ties for the new harness?

Slow pan over the whole mess" is such a good idea. I used to just dive in and hope for the best, but a quick video first totally saves me now when I hit a wall.

Ever think about taking a quick video with your phone before you touch anything? I started doing that when things are really tangled, just a slow pan over the whole mess. It saves your butt if you get lost halfway through and need to remember how it looked before. What do you use to keep track when the labels are all gone?
