Can we talk about the time it takes to fix a small money mistake

I had a $12 overdraft fee from my credit union in 2019 that I let slide, thinking it was nothing. It went to collections and tanked my score, and the whole process to get it cleared and my report fixed took almost two full years of calls and letters. It's wild how something so small can become such a huge, quiet hassle. Has anyone else had a tiny fee blow up like that?

Honestly @the_hugo, my $35 late payment just got a quick call and apology from the bank to fix it.

Yeah, it's wild how much time a tiny fee can eat up. I had a similar thing last year with a $20 overdraft charge. Spent forty-five minutes on hold, then another twenty explaining it was their system's glitch. Felt like I needed a vacation after winning that battle.

Quiet hassle" is the perfect way to put it. My own small fee turned into a whole saga that I'm still too embarrassed to fully explain.
