Logged into my bank app and saw my credit card debt hit $8,000 exactly
It was a round number that just sat there, you know? I knew I had debt, but seeing that specific figure made it feel real in a way the smaller, changing numbers never did. It's from a mix of vet bills for my dog and some dumb choices last winter. How do you even start to talk about this stuff without feeling like a total screw-up? Anyone else have a number that just stopped them cold?

Yeah, that clean number is a gift, he's right. Mine was $5,555.55. I stared at it and thought, well at least my debt is aesthetically pleasing. It was all from ordering way too much takeout during a bad breakup.
