My wife and I started writing down every money worry on a sticky note before bed.
We were fighting about small stuff, but the real problem was a $12,000 credit card bill we never talked about. The rule was you had to put at least one note on the fridge each night, no matter how small. After two weeks, we finally sat down and made a real plan to pay it off. Has anyone else found a weird trick that made a money talk easier?

That sticky note idea is smart. My wife and I had a similar thing with a whiteboard in the kitchen. We'd just write numbers, like the checking account balance or a big bill due that week. Seeing it out in the open made it less scary to bring up. It stopped being a secret we were both keeping. We started talking about it while making coffee instead of having a big stressful meeting.

Yeah, that's how you make it feel normal, right?

I used to think you had to have a big formal talk about money. But the part about "seeing it out in the open made it less scary" really hit home for me. I mean, my partner and I started just leaving the bank app open on the tablet on the counter. Idk, maybe it's just me but seeing the number right there made it feel like a normal thing to chat about, not some secret stress. It totally changed how we handle it now.
