My buddy at a tech startup found out I make 20k more for the same marketing title. Now every time we get beers, he brings up his "passion projects" and side-eyes my car. It’s super chill now that we all know exactly how to price our friendship. Really brought us closer.

Reminds me of my friend who found out her cousin made way less at the same company. She started getting weird texts about "hustle culture" and "financial freedom" every time she posted a vacation photo. It got so awkward she just stopped sharing anything, which is a shame. Sounds like you and @harper_thompson13 are figuring out that new money talk balance too.
