Unpopular opinion: I think hiding your real salary from coworkers only helps the bosses

Last month at our office in Denver, a new hire found out I make 15k more than him for the same job. We both got mad, but at the company, not each other. Now we're quietly looking for new jobs together. How do you even start that talk without feeling weird?

Wait, you guys are actually job hunting together now? That's wild. Good for you for teaming up instead of getting mad at each other. It's crazy how just talking about pay can change everything. Companies really bank on us staying quiet. How long do you think it'll take before they notice you're both leaving?

Honestly, it's the only way it made sense. Getting mad at each other just plays into their hands, like you said. They'll probably notice when we both put in our notice the same week. The whole thing really shows how much power there is in just having an open chat, @the_logan. Keeping quiet only helps the company's bottom line. It's a simple change that makes a big difference.
