Just realized my 'soup cleanse' week was a total setup for failure

I saw a post online about a seven day soup diet, just broth and blended veggies, to 'reset' my system. I made a huge pot of carrot and ginger soup on a Sunday, enough for the whole week. By Wednesday afternoon, I was so hungry I ate a whole sleeve of saltines over the sink while staring at the soup pot. The breaking point was Friday, when I had to walk past a pizza place on Main Street and the smell made my stomach growl so loud the guy next to me laughed. I went home and ate two bowls of cereal for dinner instead. The plan fell apart because I was just too hungry to focus on anything. Has anyone else tried a diet that left you so starving you cracked under the smallest pressure?

Try adding some chicken or beans to your soup next time for protein, it helps a ton.

Forgot the protein, my soup is basically fancy water lol.

Sometimes a light broth is exactly what you need though. Not every meal has to be packed with protein to feel good. A simple soup can be really nice and easy on your stomach.
