My doctor told me my 'juice fast' was basically starving my muscles
So I did this 10 day juice cleanse I saw online (the one with the green stuff, you know). I felt awful by day four but pushed through, thinking that was the point. At my yearly checkup, my doctor looked at my blood work and just said, 'Logan, your body is eating its own muscle for fuel. You're losing the wrong weight.' That hit me hard. I was so focused on the number on the scale going down that I didn't care what the weight actually was. He explained how my metabolism was probably slowing way down to cope. I stopped the juice thing that same day and started just adding a real protein source, like chicken or beans, to every meal instead. Has anyone else gotten a wake-up call from a checkup that made you drop a bad diet plan for good?

Saw a thing that said juice cleanses can tank your metabolism. Good call listening to your doc, @felixramirez.

Listen to your doctor, not some random person online. Juice cleanses are a scam that just leave you tired and weak. Your body needs real food, especially protein, to actually work right. I tried one years ago and just got shaky and couldn't focus. Eating chicken, eggs, or even some lentils with your meals makes a huge difference.
