Spent $150 on a meal prep service that left me hungry by Tuesday

I signed up for one of those meal kit delivery things last month after seeing an ad. Figured it would fix my snacking problem since everything was pre-portioned and healthy. Problem was, the portions were tiny and I was raiding the pantry by 8pm every night. Has anyone else found a meal prep system that actually fills you up without breaking the bank?

Can't believe you paid $150 just to go hungry by Tuesday, that's insane. I tried a different service that gave me these sad little chicken breasts and about five green beans per meal. Honestly you're better off just buying a big bag of rice and some frozen veggies for like $20.

I actually read a study that said meal kit companies use WAY less packaging than grocery stores, but their food costs are about 35% higher per serving. So @elizabethg18 is right that you're paying for convenience, not value. But I still think the rice and frozen veggies plan is smarter if you're trying to stretch a budget.

Mine got delivered with a hole in the box and half the ice packs melted.
