Rant: My 'use a potato to unscrew a stripped bolt' hack ended with a trip to urgent care

I saw a video saying you could jam a raw russet potato onto a stripped Phillips head on a garbage disposal flange to get it out, so I gave it a shot in my kitchen yesterday. The potato split, the screwdriver slipped, and I needed three stitches on my knuckle from hitting the edge of the sink. Has anyone actually made a vegetable-based repair work, or is this just internet nonsense?

That jetpack video had maybe three pixels total. I remember pausing it and you could see a blurry rope near his left shoulder. My cousin was all in on it until someone posted the warehouse photos with the same rafters in the background. It's crazy how a shaky camera and some loud noise can make people believe anything.

Totally, that whole thing reminds me of a clip from last year that went viral. Some guy claimed he built a working jetpack in his garage. The footage was so choppy and the "flight" looked like bad CGI. People dug into his channel and found he was just dangling from wires in an old warehouse. The internet is wild for falling for that stuff at first. Makes you double check everything you see now.
