Tried using a hairdryer to defrost my freezer faster last month and it's still making a weird noise.
I saw a video where someone used a hairdryer on the low setting to melt ice buildup in their freezer quickly, so I tried it in my apartment kitchen, but I must have gotten the coils too wet because now there's a constant clicking sound coming from the back panel every time it runs.

Honestly that clicking might just be the normal defrost cycle kicking on and off. My old fridge made weird noises for weeks after I tried something similar and it just stopped on its own. Could be water dripping on a hot part and sizzling, not a real problem.

Hold on, I gotta push back on that a little. Clicking could absolutely be the defrost cycle, sure, but it could also be something like the compressor struggling to kick on, which is a much bigger deal. I've had a fridge that clicked like that for a few days before it just died completely (really fun when you come down to spoiled milk in the morning). Water sizzling is a different sound too, usually more of a hiss or crackle, not a mechanical click. Ignoring it because it "might" be normal is how you end up with a $500 repair bill when the board or the start relay finally gives out.
