DAE have a client's horse that just will not pick up a hind foot?
Had a big draft in Spokane last week that kept planting his right hind like a tree, took 45 minutes of patience and a different approach to finally get it done. What's your go-to trick for the stubborn ones?

That 45 minutes sounds like wasted time to me. Sometimes a horse planting its foot is a clear sign of pain or a real physical issue, not just stubbornness. Forcing the issue with a different trick might just make a sore horse worse. It's better to stop and call the vet instead of trying to win a battle of wills.

Exactly, and that wasted time could turn a small problem into a big, expensive one. Pushing a horse that's trying to tell you it hurts is just asking for a full-blown injury. So many people see a behavioral issue when it's actually a cry for help. Always check for pain first, because you can't train out a sore leg or a bad back.

Rodriguez.diana is right, my vet found a sore back last month.
