Met a guy at the Reno horse show who said trimming every six weeks is a waste of time

He was a trainer with a string of quarter horses and told me, 'You're just filing off good hoof if you stick to a rigid schedule.' I argued that regular maintenance prevents bigger issues, but he insisted on watching the horse, not the calendar. How do you guys decide when a horse is actually ready for a trim?

What, does his calendar only have the days he feels like working?

Hear that all the time from barn know-it-alls. Watched a guy let his horse's toes get so long it started stumbling on flat ground. Some people just use any excuse to skip the farrier.

See this same lazy mindset ruin cars, houses, even relationships.
