Found that in an old farrier textbook at the library and it really made me think about the sheer force our work has to manage. Anyone have a good method for checking hoof balance under that kind of load?

How do you even start to measure that?

Start with the biggest part and hope the tape measure doesn't snap back. Honestly, it feels like half of adult life is just trying to measure weird shaped things with the wrong tools. You end up using a piece of string and a guess for everything from furniture to how much time you actually have. It's all just rough estimates that we pretend are exact numbers.
