Just realized I was wrong about using recycled fabrics for high end pieces

For years I thought recycled polyester and nylon were just for basic sportswear or cheap fast fashion. I saw them as scratchy and not worth the effort. Then about six months ago, I got a sample of a new Italian recycled nylon from a supplier. It felt like silk, had a beautiful drape, and the color depth was amazing. I made a test dress with it and the way it moved completely changed my mind. Now I'm looking at using it for a whole collection. Has anyone else made the switch and found a specific recycled material that surprised them with its quality?

But what about the durability? I've heard some recycled stuff pills way faster.

Yeah, @terry_thomas has a point about some recycled stuff falling apart. But I got a hoodie made from recycled cotton and polyester blend a year ago. Washed it a ton and it still looks new, no pilling at all. It seems like the quality really depends on the brand and how they make it, right?
