Months of stitching later, my reversible coat is actually reversible now lol
I started this project thinking it would be a quick turnaround, but aligning the inner and outer fabrics took way longer than expected. Waiting for the perfect interfacing to hold the structure without adding bulk felt endless, lmao. I must have ripped out seams a dozen times because the layers wouldn't lie flat when flipped. Finally, after adjusting the pattern increments by hand, it all clicked together this weekend. It's a tiny milestone, but seeing both sides look intentional and wearable makes me so relieved. Honestly, the patience paid off more than I thought it would. Now I'm just psyched to actually wear it out without fearing a wardrobe malfunction, haha.

Oh man, that line about the layers not lying flat when flipped is the realest thing. I've been there, fighting with what feels like fabric that's actively fighting back. What finally worked for me on a similar project was using those small binder clips from an office supply store instead of pins when basting the layers together. Pins just let things shift too much, but the clips hold everything in a death grip so you can sew it without the bottom layer crawling away. It sounds stupid but it was a total game changer. That feeling when it finally works and both sides look good is the best, like you just solved a puzzle. Congrats on pushing through, that's a huge win.

Wait, binder clips? That death grip idea is genius. How have I never tried that before?

So you used binder clips like @dylanmorgan mentioned? How did you stop the edges from getting marked up?
