Showerthought: I started using a simple checklist for the last 15 minutes of my shift.
I was always forgetting one small thing, like turning off the main breaker or logging the final pallet count. Now I run through the same five items on my phone and it's cut my closing time by at least 20 minutes. Anyone else have a specific routine that locks things down fast?

Five item checklists are a game changer for repetitive tasks. I started using one for my morning setup and it eliminated those small mistakes that cost time. That final mental walkthrough just locks everything in place.

Checklists just make me overthink everything.

My old boss made us use a checklist for closing the kitchen. It was a full page long. Half the time we’d just initial the boxes without actually checking because we were rushing. The list gave a false sense of security and we still missed things, like the pilot light on the grill. It became another chore to fake.
