My neighbor said his sauerkraut tastes better when he talks to it

I was helping him move some jars in his garage last weekend and he just said it plain, like it was normal. He told me he started chatting with his ferments after reading some old book from his grandma. It sounds silly, but his kraut from batch three is honestly the best I've ever tried. Has anyone else heard of something like this, or is my neighbor just a bit out there?

My grandma used to sing to her sourdough starter, swore it made the bread rise better. So maybe there's something to it, you know, the whole vibe of the place affecting the ferment. Your neighbor's batch three being the best tracks with that, like the microbes just got used to his voice. Honestly, if it works, it works.
