Spent $75 on a fancy 'artisan' loaf that was just a bad brick
Went to that new bakery on 5th last week. They talked up this sourdough for 10 minutes. Said it was a 48-hour ferment, special grain. Cost me seventy five bucks. Got it home, tried to cut it. Knife barely went in. Crust was like a rock, inside was gummy. Ate one piece and threw the whole thing out. Total waste. Anyone know a spot that actually makes good bread you can eat?

My local coffee shop started charging eight bucks for a burnt croissant. It feels like every place now is selling the story instead of the actual food. You just paid seventy five dollars for their marketing, not for bread.

Did you check if the bakery has a return policy for bad product? Some of these high end places will actually refund you if you bring the brick back and show them. It forces them to see their own bad work.
