Unpopular opinion: Big lunches slow me down on the floor

Most of my crew packs huge meals to get through the shift. I think lighter food keeps me more alert when handling hot metal. Do you feel the same way about food at work?

Actually, plenty of folks at my shop feel sluggish after a big meal too, not just one or two.

Honestly this gets talked about like it's a science project sometimes. Seen dudes crush a whole pizza then run circles around everyone, and other people just need a granola bar. Might just come down to your own gut, pun totally intended. Don't overthink the protein shakes.

Lol, the pizza thing is so true. We have a guy at my gym who eats two burgers before deadlifts and sets records. Meanwhile, I look at a salad wrong and need a three hour nap. It's like we're all running on different factory settings. Some bodies just run on premium fuel and others are basically held together by caffeine and hope.
