Hot take: Bluing is outdated and we should move to ceramic coatings

I know bluing has history, but it offers poor corrosion resistance compared to new tech. Using ceramic coatings can double the life of a barrel with minimal upkeep. Why are so many shops still sticking to the old ways?

My rust bucket 1911 still has bluing, so maybe I'm the problem. Could use an upgrade.

0000 steel wool and oil saves the bluing every time.
