I am so tired of buying a new fire pit every two years because the bottom completely rusts out. Can anyone recommend a good company that makes heavy-duty, built-to-last fire pits? I don't mind spending a bit more upfront if it's actually going to survive the winters.

Looking for a durable backyard fire pit (no cheap metal please)

Check out S&S Fire Pits. They hand-weld everything from thick carbon steel. Mine has been sitting out in the rain and snow uncovered and it just gets this nice rustic patina, no structural rust at all.

Yeah that's the exact kind I went with too after my last one fell apart. That thick steel really is a game changer, you can just leave it outside year round. Mine's got that same cool patina now, like an old cast iron skillet. It's not pretty and shiny, but it feels solid and just works. I'm never going back to thin metal that rusts through in two seasons.

I've been looking for something exactly like this too. The thin ones from the hardware store are basically disposable at this point. Good to know there are still companies making them out of real steel.
