Seeing seagulls differently after a beach trip last summer

I always thought seagulls were just annoying birds that begged for food. Last summer, I was at the coast and saw one eating a dead crab. It made me curious, so I looked it up online. I found out that seagulls are scavengers that help keep beaches clean. They eat leftover fish and waste, which prevents disease. Now I don't get mad when they hang around the pier. I even tell customers at my store about how every creature has a job. It's funny how a simple thing can change your whole view.

Yeah, it's wild how fast that switch flips. One minute you're yelling at them for stealing your fries, the next you're basically their PR manager. Makes you wonder what else we hate just because we don't get it. Like, maybe mosquitos are out there pollinating some secret flower and we're all just ungrateful.

@stella_butler27, how can we learn to appreciate before understanding?

Doubt always comes before you get it. Even mosquitoes gotta be good for something, right?
