Tried two theremin tuners, the $12 one beat my $90 unit

Picked up a Moog theremin kit in March for $150. Struggled with pitch for weeks. Bought a Stagg TU-90 tuner, thought it would fix everything. Nope. Drove me nuts. Swapped to a cheap Korg CA-1 from a pawn shop in Dayton. Way more stable. The Moog's output is too hot for the Stagg, that was the problem. Anyone else run into signal issues with budget tuners on vintage-style gear?

Happened to me with an old synth pedal, cheap tuner won too lol.
