Just hit $10k in my TFSA and it feels weirdly huge
Ive been putting in like $200 a month for 3 years and finally broke that 5 figure mark last week, never thought id actually get there starting from zero. Anyone else hit a random milestone that felt bigger than you expected?

The thing that kinda hit me when I broke my first $10k was actually the psychological shift, not the math. I started seeing my coffee runs and random Amazon buys in a totally different light, like 'that $15 could be $30 in 10 years if I just left it alone.' It made me way more stingy in a good way, not in a cheap way. I mean, before that milestone, $10k felt like this impossible mountain, and after I got there, it just felt like a real baseline, not a goal anymore. It's weird how the number itself changes your habits more than any investment advice ever did.

You know what I wonder about hitting that first big number like $10k. Did you stop and really look at how much of that was your own money versus what the market gave you? Because that's the part that kind of blew my mind when I hit a similar milestone. I had put in about $7,500 of my own cash and the rest was just growth from dividends and price increases. It made me realize how much time does the heavy lifting if you just stay consistent. What was the split for you when you added it all up?
