Why does everyone treat standing ovations like they're mandatory now
I used to stand and clap for every local band at the dive bar on 5th Street, but last night I sat through the whole set and honestly the drummer played better because he wasn't distracted, has anyone else stopped performing appreciation just to actually listen?

sitting through the whole set and honestly the drummer played better" that part hits different. honestly sometimes the best way to respect the music is to not fake hype, the band can tell the difference between real energy and forced clapping anyway.
