The sudden meltdowns on talent shows look totally planned
I was watching that singing competition last night and a contestant burst into tears after mild criticism. The camera zoomed in like it was a big moment, but it felt so set up. Does the show need these fake emotional scenes to keep people watching? It takes away from the actual talent on stage.

Ugh, totally! Even if the tears are real, editors can make anything look like a meltdown. @mitchell.sarah is right about scripting, but it's more about crafting a story after the fact.
