DAE feel like skincare subscription boxes are a gamble with your skin?

I'm torn: subscription boxes offer exciting finds, but often send products that don't suit my skin. Some friends swear by them, others say it's a waste. Where do you stand?

I mean, I get the excitement Elliot mentioned, but how do you actually determine a 'holy grail' from a box? You're getting a random serum or moisturizer every month, and idk, skin needs consistency to see real results. Maybe it's just me, but using a product once or twice before the next box arrives feels more like sampling than legit testing. Doesn't that constant switching just irritate your skin more often than not, making the whole hunt for a winner counterproductive?

Nah, calling it a gamble is too negative imo. I've found some holy grail products through boxes I'd never have tried otherwise, and it's a fun way to mix up your routine without overthinking it lol.

Elliot's right that it doesn't have to feel like a gamble, but Sarahk10 has a point about consistency being key. Constantly switching out serums every month seems like the opposite of not overthinking it to me. You're still making a choice to change your routine all the time, which can definitely mess with your skin. Isn't that just trading one kind of overthinking for another?
